DURGA, a Hindu warrior Goddess, is a form of DEVI, the supreme goddess, also identified with PARVATI. Durga is depicted riding a lion or a tiger with multiple hands - some carrying weapons and the others forming symbolic hand gestures. Durga is still worshipped by many in India.
