Faces of the Goddess
The Three Graces, also known as the Charites, were Goddesses of Beauty. There names were Aglaia (Splendor), Euphrosyne (Mirth), and Thalia (Good Cheer). They were the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome. They were the first to welcome Aphrodite when she was blown to shore by the East Wind. The three of them rode in a chariot pulled by white geese. In pre-classical mythology, they were goddesses of fertility and nature and were closely associated with the underworld and the Eleusinian mysteries.
