BRIGID, also known as BRIGET or BRIGHID, was one of the goddesses worshipped by the ancient Celts, including the Druids. She was the goddess of wisdom, excellence, poetry, craftsmanship, healing, Druidic knowledge and warfare. During the emmergence of Christianity, she was canonized in an effort to persuade more Pagans to convert. Her sainthood was later reversed, but she is still revered today by Pagans and Christians alike.
