ANDRASTE was a war Goddess. Her name means "the invincible one" and she was evoked on the eve of battle to curry favor. Queen Boadiccea of the Iceni tribe offered sacrifices to Andraste in a sacred grove before fighting the Romans on her many campaigns against them.
